BOAT REGISTRATION

     The Grafton Town Clerk's Office is an authorized boat agent for the State of New Hampshire.  A $5.00 agent fee will be collected in addition to other boat registration fees when processed.

What to Register:

     All motorboats, regardless of size

     Sailboats and sailboards less than 12 feet in length

What Not to Register:

     Sailboats and sailboards less than 12 feet in length

     Kayaks

     Canoes

Where to Register:

     Grafton Town Clerk's Office

     Marine Patrol Headquarters, the Boat Desk in Concord, various marinas, sports shops, town halls and New Hampshire Division of Motor Vehicles

Exemptions:

      Any U.S. government vessel

     Any vessell registered in another sate operating on New Hampshire waters for 30 consecutive days or less

Requirements:

     Completed boat registration application

     Proof of ownership (title, previous registration, bill of sale)

     Driver's license

Fees:

     Dependent upon length and year of boat

Renewals/Replacements:

     Registration is valid from January 1st to December 31st

Boating License:

     Anyone over the age of 16 who drives a boat with 25 horsepower motor or more must complete the Department of Safety's Boating Education Course and pass the exam

     Younger than 16 requires a passenger older than 18 who has completed the Department of Safety's Boating Education Course
